Wreaths Across America ceremony Saturday

GLADSTONE — The Wreaths Across America ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 NE Antioch Road. The annual program collects donations through the year to place wreaths on veterans’ graves in local cemeteries in conjunction with others across the country.

The website for donations, volunteering, and donation information is wreathsacrossamerica.org.

During the wreath-laying event Saturday, the community is invited to attend and help lay wreaths.

“By participating in Wreath Across America, we’ve been able to help to ensure that our community veterans are never forgotten. With a veteran in our household this is an event we hold close to our hearts,” said organizer Lynn Crowley. “We started out volunteering with Wreaths Across America White Chapel Memorial Garden as a family several years ago and the impact was significant enough we invited our Girl Scout families to join us. We look forward to this event each year and hope for the 3,000 wreaths needed to cover every veteran in the Memorial Garden donated this year.”
