KANSAS CITY — The Winter family announces the fourth location of their Furniture Mall brand will open in the Metro North Crossing Development. Furniture Mall of Missouri is taking 150,000 square feet of the former Macy’s location, according to a press release from Metro Crossing.
Renovations of the former Macy’s building are slated to begin April 1. The renovations will create the many rooms and environments that Furniture Mall is known for, along with its café, which serves shoppers homemade custard and fresh baked cookies.
The grand opening is expected before the end of 2025.
The Furniture Mall is a local, family-owned business, serving Kansas and Missouri for generations. The Winter family started its furniture business journey in 1933.
“We love being part of the communities we serve, and Kansas City already feels like home,” says Jeff Winter, co-owner of The Furniture Mall. “Being a local, family business means we’re not just here to sell furniture —we’re here to build relationships and help families create spaces they truly love.”
The new Furniture Mall of Missouri is part of Metro North Crossing development, spanning 106 acres with an estimated $250 million investment, led by IAS Partners.
