U.S. News & World Report recognizes North KC Hospital

NORTH KANSAS CITY — North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health achieved high performing ratings for seven types of care in “U.S. News & World Report’s” Best Hospitals 2024-2025 rankings and ratings.This recognition acknowledges the health system’s performance in complex care in medical specialties and in common procedures and conditions.

NKCH and MH programs and treatments have earned high performing rankings for several consecutive years:

• heart failure (eight consecutive years),

• knee replacement (seven consecutive years),

• colon cancer surgery (six consecutive years),

• heart attack (four consecutive years) and

• chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (three consecutive years).

Hip replacement and kidney failure procedures and conditions have moved from average to high performing.

U.S. News and World Report evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures such as survival rates, complication rates, patient experience and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals methodology factors in data from the American Hospital Association, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, professional organizations and medical specialists.
