NORTH KANSAS CITY — The TurpinTyme Ragsters will bring Ragtime music to Friday in the Park starting at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at North Kansas City’s Festival Pavilion in Macken Park, 1000 Clark Ferguson Drive.
The seven-piece Ragtime music ensemble is based in Kansas City.
“Our repertoire reflects the diversity of music from turn-of-the-century America,” reads the band’s website.
The Ragsters were formed in 1993 with a desire to play a unique style of music.
“Simply stated, performing the music of Scott Joplin, James Scott, Charles Johnson, Joseph Lamb, Eubie Blake and our namesake Tom Turpin, makes us happy. We hope it will do the same for you,” states the band’s site.
All Friday in the Park concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, visit nkc.org or call 274-6000.
