Kurtis Gregory, a Republican who has been serving in the Missouri House, is headed back to Jefferson City, but this time to serve as state senator.
Gregory won the District 21 seat by a wide margin Tuesday, Nov. 5, with 64,355 votes, or 69%, of the votes cast, according to uncertified results from the Secretary of State’s Office. Challenger and Democrat Jim Bates, of Liberty, took 31%, or 28,475, votes.
“Thank you to everyone,” Gregory wrote on social media after the results were in early Wednesday, Nov. 6. “What a ride it’s been. Thank you for trusting in me to be your next senator.”
Gregory, who is replacing fellow Republican Denny Hoskins in the seat, will serve a four-year term. Hoskins was elected Tuesday to be the next secretary of state.
