Pumpkins, music part of coming events at Atkins-Johnson Farm

GLADSTONE — The Atkins-Johnson Farm and Museum, 4109 NE Pleasant Valley Road, has two events planned for Saturday, Sept. 21.

The first is the Big Shoal Farm Pumpkin Field Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This festival will offer vendors and crafts.

Pumpkins are available mid-September through late October and can be purchased on Saturdays at the farm. Customers can walk the field and select their own pumpkins at the farm, 4125 NE 64th St.

At 6 p.m. Sept. 21, there will be Pickin’ on the Front Porch at the farm, which is a concert featuring Gullywasher, a local trio. This free, two-hour live performance will be in the front yard of the historic Atkins-Johnson Farmhouse. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket.
