Northland Health Alliance seeks survey input

The Northland Health Alliance, an area nonprofit, seeks input on the 2024 Community Health Survey.

Hospitals and health departments often assess the health of their collective jurisdictions every few years through a community health assessment. The member organizations for Northland Health Alliance are Liberty Hospital, North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health, Northland Health Care Access, Clay County Public Health Center, Platte County Health Department, St. Luke’s North Hospital, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, Beacon Mental Health, Children’s Mercy, Excelsior Springs Hospital, Signature Psychiatric Hospital, Kansas City Health Department, University Health, Northland Shepherd’s Center, LevelUp Kids Inc. and Healthy Blue Missouri.

According to the nonprofit, the assessment is a tool for decision-makers and citizens alike to understand the current state of health in their area.

The results of the survey help the Northland Health Alliance identify priorities for the group to work on over the next few years.

In 2021, survey results indicated that the community needed increased access to transportation, healthy food and mental/ behavioral health resources.

As a result, NHA helped distribute 816 naloxone kits, trained 145 people in mental health first aid and helped promote the 988 suicide prevention hotline.
