NORTH KANSAS CITY — North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health was named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for a third time. This honor recognizes the top 444 hospitals in the United States that provide exceptional maternity care, supporting patients through pregnancy, delivery and every step of the postpartum journey, according to a hospital release.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to deliver the most comprehensive, high-quality support for every parent and newborn,” said Catherine Bonderer, senior director of Maternal Child Health. “From our obstetricians and nurses to our neonatology experts, our incredible team makes a measurable difference in the lives of patients through the care we provide.”
This is the fourth year that Newsweek and Statista, a data and business intelligence portal, compiled this list. Rankings are based on hospital quality metrics, patient experience and online surveys completed by healthcare professionals and hospital managers knowledgeable about maternity processes. Institutions are divided into two performance categories based on their scores: five-ribbon and four-ribbon. North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health received a four-ribbon designation in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
A four-ribbon rating means the quality metrics are greater than 79% as well as a patient experience greater than 79% and a reputation score of greater than 68%.
