CLAY COUNTY — Located on Longridge Road to the east of Stockdale Road in rural Clay County, the Longridge Road bridge was reconstructed and is now open to traffic.

The new bridge, measuring 72 feet in length, features a steel girder structure with a concrete deck accommodating two lanes.

“Its contemporary design ensures smooth traffic flow and includes measures for controlling streambank erosion,” reads a county release.

The previous bridge, built in 1935, was a 32-foot single-span steel girder structure that had a 15-ton weight limit.
