NORTH KANSAS CITY — The group Marimba Sol de Chiapas will bring music from south of the border to the Friday in the Park series in North Kansas City this week.

The group is “committed to the authentic performance practice and spirit of the marimba heard throughout Mesoamerica,” according to the group’s website. They are also a Missouri Arts Council and Mid-America Arts Allianceapproved touring performing group.

The group will be in North Kansas City from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Festival Pavilion in Macken Park, 1002 Clark Ferguson Drive.
