Liberty Hospital expands specialty care with neurologist, orthopedic surgeon

LIBERTY — Two specialists have joined Liberty Hospital as the organization continues to expand its specialty care services to meet growing health care needs in the Northland and northwest Missouri.

Orthopedic surgeon Thomas McQuillan, MD, specializes in hand, shoulder and elbow surgery. He has a special interest in arthroscopic wrist procedures, rotator cuff surgery, and primary and revision (re-do) shoulder replacements. Dr. McQuillan offers advanced procedures to maximize patients’ range of motion.

A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. McQuillan completed both a residency and internship at Harvard University and a fellowship at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital. He received training in minimally-invasive wrist surgery at L’Institut de la Main in Paris, France. He sees patients at both Liberty Hospital and The University of Kansas Health System.

Neurovascular neurohospitalist Justin Chandler, MD, will oversee complex, multidisciplinary care for patients admitted to the hospital with neurologic disease such as stroke. He graduated from University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City and completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.
