CLAY COUNTY — Christopher L. Haun, 36, has been charged with four felonies: unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated fleeing a stop and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently in the Clay County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

On June 10, deputies tried to stop a truck that ran a red light next to Penguin Park. According to the sheriff’s office, Haun fled from them, eventually going the wrong way on Interstate 35. Deputies didn’t pursue him at that time.

Haun crashed into the median cable barrier on I-35 near Brighton Avenue and ran from the wreck. Deputies found him in the breezeway of a nearby apartment complex and arrested him.

Back at his wrecked truck, deputies recovered 29 grams of meth inside, as well as drug paraphernalia, a pistol and bullets.

Haun has appeared in Clay County Court. On June 17, he appeared via video and pleaded not guilty. There will be a bond review hearing July 1.
