Frank Mandina Jr., aged 71, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2024, in New Bern, North Carolina. Born on June 10, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, Frank lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and a spirited love for his family and country.
Frank enlisted in the Army, 101st Airborne, at 17 years old and served valiantly as a PFC E3 in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1973. After his military service, Frank embarked on a career in trucking for over 30 years and drove as a team along with his wife and dogs, which allowed him to explore the country he once defended.
Frank was a loving husband to Kathy Gladson Man◤CO Check hyphenation◢dina along with their 4 furr babies that joined them on the road: Jack, Sammy, Harley, and Tommy. A devoted father to Angela Mandina Spain (Joe Spain) and Frank “Vince” Mandina. He was also a beloved brother to sisters Marie Farris (Steve Farris) and Kathy Mandina Fleming, Father In Law, Tommy Gladson. His legacy continues through his three grandchildren, Karlyn (Jacob), Reece, and Ella who will remember him for his boundless energy and nurturing spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Mandina and Marian (Mendolia) Mandina. Mother In Law, Linda Gladson.
A celebration of life will be held at VFW Post 5606 on Saturday, November 23rd, from 2-5pm at 5406 NE Oakridge Dr, Kansas City, MO 64119. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Frank are welcome to attend and share in honoring his remarkable life.
