NORTH KANSAS CITY — The New Red Onion Jazz Babies will bring Dixieland music to Friday in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at North Kansas City’s Festival Pavilion in Macken Park, 1002 Clark Ferguson Drive.

GLADSTONE — Funk Syndicate has been bringing funk, soul and disco to the Midwest for more than 15 years.

On Friday, Aug. 23, the band will be bringing their sound to Linden Square, 620 NE 70th St. in Gladstone. The show begins at 7 p.m.

The band plays everything from dance hits from the 1960s to present-day tunes. Their repertoire includes covers of Bruno Mars; Michael Jackson; Stevie Wonder; Earth, Wind & Fire; Aretha Franklin and the Black Eyed Peas.

Craft sale Aug. 24

KANSAS CITY NORTH — The 16th Quilt-Rs & Craft-Rs Market will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Hillside Christian Church, 900 NE Vivion Road.

Local vendors will be selling finished craft items throughout the church. Items also include crafting and quilting supplies, fabric, tools, tabletop sewing machines and patterns. There will also be a donated table of items people can take for free.

There is no admission fee for the event. Boy Scout Troop 271 will host a concession window and offer lunch for sale.
