Easter egg hunts, events coming to Northland

CLAY COUNTY — Easter egg hunts are on their way as well as visits with the Easter Bunny and other holiday-related events.

April 11

The Big Bunny Trail Hunt runs Friday to Sunday, April 11 to 20 along a section of the trail at Cates Creek/Jefferson Park, 2030 Southview Dr.

Liberty Parks & Rec will hide 12 bunny cutouts along the trail.

Print an activity sheet from www.libertymissouri.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=5225 or stop by the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Road, and pick one up to help along the hunt.

This is a self-guided activity. The first 500 people to turn in their completed activity sheet will receive a prize

The Gladstone Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt is 7 p.m. Friday, April 11 at the Happy Rock Softball Complex, Northeast 76th and North Antioch. The event is open to children 10 and under. There will also be games.

There’s an adult egg hunt April 11 in Smithville at Heritage Park, 320 E. Main St.

The event is open for adults 21 and older. Smithville Park’s second annual Adult Only Egg Hunt includes an egg hunt. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the egg hunt starts at 6:30 p.m. Register at www.teamsideline.com.

April 12

Northside Fellowship KC, 4513 N. Jackson Ave., will offer an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. There will be a bounce house, games, face painting and snacks as well as the Easter story.

April 13

Hillside Christian Church offers an Easter egg hunt at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at the church, 900 NE Vivion Road. There will be treats, a petting zoo, egg hunt and face painting.

April 19

The Kearney Enrichment Council’s Easter Eggstravaganza starts at 9:30 a.m. at Lion’s Park, 106 S. Jefferson St. Activities include bounce houses, cookie decorating, decorating an egg and an egg hunt.

Smithville’s Easter egg hunt will take place at 10 a.m. at Heritage Park, 320 E. Main St. There will be some eggs with golden tickets inside. Age categories will be marked at Heritage Park. Participants will be divided into age groups: 0 to 3 years; 4 to 7 years; and 8 and older. The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce requests that families return the plastic eggs so they can be used again next year.

Shoal Creek Living History Museum, ​7000 NE Barry Road, offers “Hop Back in Time,” starting at 10 a.m. The free family event runs through 1 p.m. There will be pictures with the Easter Bunny. The buildings will be open and gated. There is no egg hunt.

Starting at 10:30 a.m., the Bennett and Dennis Herrick Memorial American Legion Post 626 from Gladstone will hold an Easter egg hunt. The hunt is open to newborn to sixth-graders. Age groups are divided so that all children have a chance to gather eggs. The event will be at the Clay County Veterans Memorial, 555 NE Vivion Road.

The Easter Butter Egg Hunt and Family Fun Day starts at 10 a.m. at Liberty Farm Equestrian Center, 2015 Hillview Road. There will be an egg hunt, drawings and raffles, professional family photographs, juggling show, face painting, food truck, balloon twisting, old fashioned games, hobby horse course, princesses and crafts.
