The Missouri Department of Conservation is warning retailers and aquarium owners to check moss balls for a potential zebra mussel infestation. Moss balls containing the invasive species have been discovered in Washington state and it’s possible they were distributed to buyers in Missouri. states a conservation department release.
GLADSTONE — Hazzard County, a country rock band formed in 2005, will take the stage Friday, Aug. 30, at Linden Square, 602 NE 70th St.

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone City Council has approved several items pertaining to citywide improvements including gutters and sidewalks. The improvements include change orders to the contract with Lan-Tel Communications Services for the curb, gutter and sidewalk program as well as a change order to the contract with Metro Asphalt for the mill and overlay program.
CLAY COUNTY — The Northland Shepherd’s Center, 5601 NE Antioch Road, is located in an area with low-income households that experience food insecurity. According to the charity, food insecurity affects more than 3,000 older adults and that number is expected to grow in the years to come.
KANSAS CITY NORTH — Oak Park High School opened in 1966 as part of the North Kansas City School District. Not long after that, classmates were sent to Vietnam. There were more than 250 Vietnam veterans from the classes of 1966 through 1975, with 11 killed in action, according to alumni organizers.
