GLADSTONE — Last October, the Gladstone City Council authorized an agreement with firm Vireo for the planning and design of an offleash dog park. On Saturday, Aug. 24, three members of Vireo’s team showed dog lovers the planned dog park during the annual Dunkin’ Dogs event at the community center pool.

KANSAS CITY NORTH — Oak Park High School opened in 1966 as part of the North Kansas City School District. Not long after that, classmates were sent to Vietnam. There were more than 250 Vietnam veterans from the classes of 1966 through 1975, with 11 killed in action, according to alumni organizers.
