LIBERTY — The Earnest & Edna Shepherd Youth Center Youth Center has been around for more than 60 years.

In the late 1980s, programs were created to focus on youth team building and leadership skills and established long-term partnerships with area suburban, urban and rural school districts.

To aid in the continued programming, the center will hold a barbecue fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. The meal will include beef, pork and all the trimmings.
