Antioch Middle School teacher named teacher of week

GLADSTONE — Dr. Jennifer Spiegel, who teaches English language arts at Antioch Middle School, was surprised with the DM Law Teacher of the Week award and celebrated as students and staff filled the hallways at the school cheering her success, according to a district press release. She has been a teacher at Antioch Middle in the North Kansas City School District for 15 years.

According to a North Kansas City Schools press release, Spiegel was chosen because of her passion and dedication to her students.

“She meets students where they are and finds unique ways to connect with them. Dr. Spiegel cares deeply for her students and often shows support by showing up as they participate in after school activities,” states the release.

The recognition comes with a $250 Amazon Gift Card, a digital billboard recognition for Teacher of the Week, a certificate for Teacher of the Week signed by Michael DiPasquale of DM Law and a prize pack.

Spiegel said she was “deeply honored” to be recognized.

“This award is a reflection of the incredible students and supportive colleagues I work with every day and I’m grateful to be part of such a wonderful community,” she said.
