21-year-old male dies after shooting in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — A 21-year-old man died from apparent gunshots early Friday morning after a reported disturbance at 6002 NE Bircain Place.

The Gladstone Police Department is actively investigating a homicide following the fatal shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of May 16.

The officers responded to a reported disturbance with shots fired at 6002 NE Bircain Place around 2:16 a.m. Upon arrival, officers located a 21-year-old male victim inside an apartment, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Gladstone Emergency Medical Service responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Two adult males have been taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time. According to the Gladstone police, all involved individuals have been contacted or are in custody.
