GLADSTONE — Along with the Bluesfest this weekend, there are a couple other events taking place.
Gladstone residents are welcome to be part of the citywide garage sale, taking place from Thursday through Sunday, May 15 to 18. No permit is required to participate. However, the city does remind residents that garage sale signs must be placed at a minimum of 10 feet back from the edge of pavement. If signs are located on private property, permission from the property owner or occupant must be given. Garage sale signs cannot be attached to telephone poles, street signs or trees. All signs must be removed at the close of the garage sale. Signs can’t be more than four square feet. Pennant type flags or other attention-attracting devices aren’t allowed.
Visitors parking at garage sales can’t block or impede traffic flow.
On Saturday, May 17, Gladstone residents can bring their documents for free, secure shredding from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Works Facility, located at 4000 NE 76th St. Proof of residency is required.
