Northland Ethnic Festival Saturday

The Northland Ethnic Festival will take over the Maple Woods Community College Student Center Theatre, 2601 NE Barry Road, on Saturday, April 12.

There will be cultural presentations, starting at 10 a.m. Around every 10 minutes, there will be new performances. The day ends with a Parade of Flags from the participating countries, including China, Czech/Slovak, Venuzuela, Tahiti, Germany, The Philippines, Ireland, Sudan, Indonesia, Lebanon, Peru, Taiwan, Palestine, India, Colombia, Eritrea, Malaysia, Peru and Samoa.

Displays from the Ethnic Enrichment Commission will be in student center and outdoors, weather permitting.

Food for purchase will be available from Bolivia, China, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Sudan, Switzerland, Thailand and others.

Additional organizations will be sharing their work such as Global Ties, AFS, International Relations Council, Jewish Vocational Center, Black African American Ancestors, Puppetry Art Institute, RISE, Banneker School Restoration, Northland PRIDE Network, International Student Exchange, NKC Parks and Recreation, Pan Atlantic Foundation, Midwest Genealogy Center and Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
