Gladstone council approves FBI cooperative agreement, painting contract for water towers

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone City Council met Jan. 13 to kick off the new year.

The council authorized an ordinance for a cooperative agreement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to provide law enforcement resources to the Kansas City Interagency Intelligence Task Force.

They also passed a contract with Viking Painting for the Linden Water Tower and Antioch Water Tower painting and repairs.

At the meeting, the council also approved ballot language calling a General Election for the election of one position to the Gladstone City Council on Tuesday, April 8.

An ordinance authorizing an intergovernmental agreement between Gladstone and the Mid-American Regional Council Solid Waste Management District for the 2025 Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program was also approved.

As a participating community, Gladstone residents can take household hazardous waste free of charge to collection facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit or to any of the collection events held April through October.<n> Additionally, the council passed a contract with Lan-Tel Communications Services for the FY25 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Program – Phase 1.

To conclude the meeting, the council approved a contract with Legacy Post and Beam for the purchase of a 1.5-story gable barn kit.
