As the Northland continues to adapt to a new normal and is taking cautious steps to reopen, so too is the Gladstone Dispatch.

While our staffers have been busy working remotely and remain dedicated to documenting local stories of heroism, compassion and how businesses are doing their best to reopen, our management team, like those in many businesses, has been working to identify the safest way to reopen our offices and find ways to offset financial losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic with as little impact as possible to our customers and employees.

As previously reported, one option made available to newspapers across the U.S. is to skip a number of scheduled publication dates to offset the budget hit caused by the pandemic. We at the Dispatch believe this is the best option for us and our employees moving forward, and therefore, we will not print a paper on Thursday, July 9.

In addition to not having a print publication July 9, our offices will be closed Friday, July 3, and Monday to Friday, July 6 to 10, to allow our employees to have an extended Independence Day holiday.

While our offices will be closed to the public, we can still be reached for customers looking to subscribe or place an ad, classified, legal notice or obituary in our products. To reach us by phone, call 454-9660. News tips can also be emailed to gladstonenews@npgco.com. A dropbox is also available at our Liberty office should you need to drop off an ad payment, subscription renewal or other correspondence. The black dropbox is located next to the front door at 104 N. Main St. in downtown Liberty.

While our offices will be closed for a week, we are happy to announce staff will return Monday, July 13, and our offices will be open by appointment starting at 8 a.m. that Monday.

This has been a difficult year for all of us, but we at the Dispatch are inspired by the way our fellow community members have rallied together. We know we will make it through this together.
