The City of Gladstone recognized Jason Lawson from public safety, Charles Lee from the field crew and Eric Millsap from the city’s office staff as city employees of the year for 2019.
Lawson started with the Gladstone Fire/EMS Division in 2016. Along with his EMS duties, Lawson is also enrolled as a full-time student working towards a degree in fire science. With a background in diesel mechanics, he often becomes the “go to” person for equipment diagnostics and repair.
“He’s always willing and ready to help,” states a city press release.
Lee is a maintenance specialist with the street crew. According to the award recognition, he comes in every day with a positive attitude always taking on extra work when needed.
“He shows a calming presence within his department. Lee is a great role model for new staff members and a great ambassador for Gladstone,” states the release.
Millsap has made a positive impact in the Community Development Department after spending 13 years in the Parks/Public Works Department.
He is described as positive, responsible and eager. He also took on the added task of coordinating the holiday lighting in downtown Gladstone.
