October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Amanda Stagg, a Gladstone resident, is supporting Kansas City’s Rose Brooks Center and the domestic violence survivors they serve through a community supply drive.
Stagg is hoping to collect items such as socks, underwear, toiletries and more for survivors and their children. Most survivors of domestic violence leave their situation with nothing but the clothes on their back, making basic needs hard to come by, states a release. This drive will help Rose Brooks’ larger mission of providing critical resources to the individuals that walk through their doors.
The drive is taking place now through Friday, Oct. 11. Items can be dropped off at her Allstate office, 5608 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone. This supply drive is a part of a multi-state Allstate Foundation Purple Purse effort that will benefit more than 50 domestic violence nonprofits across the country.
