The libraries of greater Kansas City will team up with the Kansas City Royals in a fundraising event to benefit the Summer Reading Program.

On Tuesday, July 24, the Royals will host Library Night at the K during the game against the Detroit Tigers. A portion of every ticket sold through the custom link below will go toward the Summer Reading Program.

Before the first pitch, all six participating library systems will host a pre-game celebration outside of Gate B. Activities and giveaways will consist of meeting MCPL's mascot Marty the Martian and seeing the library's Reading Rocket for early literacy.

While supplies last, MCPL will also be giving out I (heart) MCPL royal blue wrist bands.

Mr. Stinky Feet also will make an appearance and perform in teh Outfield Experience between 6 and 7 p.m.

Other activities and giveaways will be hosted by North Kansas City Public Library, Olathe Public Library, Johnson County Library and Kansas City Public Library.
